Explore the NIGO Exhibition at KENZO
Get up close to one of the standout looks from the 2022 Met Gala in our #NIGOExhibition. Just months after being appointed Artistic Director of @kenzo, NIGO invited his longtime friend and collaborator @kidcudi to wear one of his first major red-carpet designs for the house. Drawing from KENZO's extensive archive, NIGO reimagined a 1984 black tuxedo with a dramatic cape. Cudi then made it his own, transforming it in electric blue and lining the cape with the house's iconic floral motif. See it in NIGO: From Japan with Love until 4 October 2026. Wes Anderson The Archives Exhibition Announcement
House rules for #WesAndersonTheArchives: absolutely no crying 😭 If that sounds oddly specific, it's because this sign at the entrance to the exhibition is a nod to Anderson's The French Dispatch (2021), where 'no crying' is one of the golden rules in the office of Arthur Howitzer Jr. (played by Bill Murray), the magazine's famously exacting - and secretly beloved - editor. It's a small detail that captures Anderson's deadpan humour and meticulously composed worlds. Don't forget to tag us in your snaps on your next visit. #WesAndersonTheArchives is open until 16 August 2026. Book your tickets via the link in our bio. 📸 @alwayssickly, @londonartcritic, @zofiabugajna, @franciscagigante

Limited-Edition BAPE Merchandise Announcement
#DesignOfTheWeek | The most affordable BAPE item at the time is now one of its most coveted collectibles 🦍 In 2001, @nigo approached @pepsi with the idea of creating limited-edition merchandise, helping pioneer the fashion-brand collaborations that are now commonplace. His concept was simple - transform everyday Pepsi cans with BAPE's signature camouflage print, bringing the streetwear label to an entirely new audience. Retailing for less than a dollar, the cans sold out almost instantly, becoming coveted collector's pieces. Today, they're prized by fans as a cherished piece of BAPE history. See them in our #NIGOExhibition until 4 October 2026. Head to the link in our bio to book your ticket.

#ArchitectureFriday | Often labelled one of the ugliest buildings in the world, the Portland Building is a true example of marmite architecture. One of the most influential early examples of postmodern civic architecture in the US, it marked a clear break from the glass-and-steel modernism that dominated the 20th century. When it opened in 1982, its bold colours and oversized forms challenged architectural convention. Designed by postmodernist architect Michael Graves, the building rejects minimalism in favour of expression - with a clearly articulated base, middle and top, and monumental columns framing its entrance. Perhaps its most iconic feature is Portlandia. Created after Graves decided the city’s original Lady Commerce was 'simply too dull', the copper figure by Ray Kaskey is the second-largest copper sculpture in the world after the Statue of Liberty, watching over the entrance. Postmodernism’s embrace of symbolism and ornament is evident throughout the building: from its small, four-foot square windows to its oversized decorative details - including green ribbons and blue medallions - all deliberately rejecting the restraint of modernist design. Built on a tight budget, the Portland Building faced decades of deterioration before undergoing a major restoration led by DLR Group with the Graves firm. Reopened in 2020, the project not only revitalised a landmark, but reignited debate around how we preserve postmodern architecture.

Discover the Artistry of Simone Brewster
@simonebrewster_london approaches jewellery as wearable sculpture. Every piece begins as a sketch before being carefully developed through a process of material exploration and prototyping. Simone selects materials not only for their colour and texture, but also for their durability and how they feel when worn, testing each design to find the right balance between beauty, comfort and function. Inspired by protective and ceremonial forms of adornment from across the Pacific, from Hawaii to Fiji, Simone reinterprets these traditions through a contemporary lens. She experiments with synthetic hair and horsehair as structural elements that bind each piece together. Pictured is her Heritage Three-Column Necklace (2023). Discover more about Simone's work in PLATFORM: Simone Brewster, our free display on until January 2027. Plan your visit via the link in bio. 📷 Charles Emerson

Explore Costumes from Asteroid City at Wes Anderson The Archives
Costume designer Milena Canonero brought 1950s fashion back to life in Wes Anderson's Asteroid City ☄️ Set in 1955, the film follows a group of young stargazers who gather in a remote American desert town for a science convention. But when an alien unexpectedly arrives, the town is placed under government lockdown, forcing its residents to confront larger questions about life and existence. Reflecting Anderson's long-standing fascination with theatre and performance, Asteroid City is structured as a play within a television programme within a film, unfolding across three acts and an epilogue. Costume is central to creating the film's meticulously stylised world. Canonero designed every look, drawing on classic Hollywood for inspiration. The costumes worn by Scarlett Johansson as Midge Campbell, for example, reference the iconic wardrobes created for Grace Kelly and Kim Novak in Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window and Vertigo. Canonero is one of Anderson's most celebrated collaborators, having previously designed costumes for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Grand Budapest Hotel. See these costumes in #WesAndersonTheArchives until 16 August 2026. Book now via the link in bio - members go free. Image credits: 1-4: Luke Hayes, 5: @tjhemingway

#DesignOfTheWeek | The Chatter Telephone, once a beloved children's toy, was first introduced by @fisherprice in 1962 ☎️ Originally made of wood and called the ‘Talk Back Phone’, this toy is shaped like a telephone with a smiling face. When pulled along a surface, it makes a chattering sound, and the eyes move up and down. Up until the 1970s, it was Fisher-Price's best-selling toy and had many media appearances, including a minor role in Toy Story, where it was voiced by Teddy Newton, an artist at @pixar.

Unlocking the Past Interactive Display
How can historical artefacts help us develop a more sustainable future? In our free display, @futureobservatory: Tools for Transition, @futureislandisland explores how the community of Rathlin Island, off the north coast of Northern Ireland, is working to secure its future and become carbon neutral by 2030. Home to around 150 residents, the island is a living case study in community-led climate action. As part of the display, experience Unlocking the Past by creative coder Rifke Sadleir (@rifke.world), a playful digital interactive that blends physical and digital experiences. Drawing on research from Future Island-Island it invites visitors to explore a section of the UK's coastline, focusing on Rathlin Island and its community and history. As you wander along a digital shoreline, you'll encounter objects discovered on the island – from a Neolithic axe head to a washed-up lighter – each acting as a portal to local histories and possible futures. Combining 3D mapping with stories gathered from local voices, the interactive brings Rathlin's living memories to life while revealing how understanding the past can help shape a more resilient future. Tools for Transition brings together four research projects from across the UK exploring how design can drive change in housing, healthcare, local planning and resource management.
