Studio Pin Vice (@studiopinvice), led by Lead Architect Jung Woosik, presents One Life Welfare Foundation in Ansan, a spatial framework for support and renewal. Conceived for single mothers, the project brings together chapel, library, and community spaces through a restrained architectural language centred on what the studio describes as silent solidness and the detail of connection. At the highest point, the chapel translates narrative into form. Curved seating evokes the movement of water, divided by a central passage that leads towards a narrow cross shaped opening. Light enters with precision, casting a transient mark across the interior. Concrete at the altar contrasts with the softer ground plane, introducing both material and acoustic distinction, where sound gathers and attention is directed. Elsewhere, the children’s library and community areas extend this approach into everyday use. Abstract forms encourage intuitive interaction, while controlled sightlines reduce distraction. In the main hall, spatial gestures remain symbolic yet grounded, from recessed forms to adaptable furnishings. Across the project, architecture operates as both shelter and structure for dignity, shaping an environment where care is embedded in material, light, and sequence.
