This Eames Tandem Three Seater combines a vintage steel-and-aluminum base from the original Herman Miller system – complete with period labeling – with newly produced fiberglass shells by Modernica (@modernica). Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the early 1960s, the Tandem series was originally developed for public terminals, reflecting the couple’s enduring commitment to modularity, material efficiency, and the architecture of shared space. The shells, produced in Los Angeles by Modernica as part of their Case Study Furniture line, are made using methods that honor the form and tactility of the originals. The Big Breath by @severinguelpa reads like an illusion, offering an early glimpse into the aesthetic of a digital future. The installation, exhibited at @palaisdetokyo in 2017, moves and breathes as if born from code. Its seven oversized aluminum cushions inflate and deflate with a mechanical rhythm that mimics life. The Futuro House, designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, is one of the boldest expressions of 20th-century retrofuturism. Created in the late 1960s as a ski cabin, it was lightweight, prefabricated, and quick to heat — designed for transport and assembly even in remote terrain. Made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, it stood 4 meters high and 8 meters in diameter, featuring a compact layout with a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. Its spaceship-like shape and airplane hatch entrance captured the era’s space-race optimism, though its avant-garde look made it controversial — especially in rural areas. Over 100 were built before production ended during the 1973 oil crisis. Today, around 60 remain around the world, from Finland to the U.S., New Zealand to South Africa. Once a commercial failure, now a cultural icon — the Futuro stands as a lasting vision of the future that never came. #industrial

Power Shell conceals a Power Beam inside a minimal cover that works both upright and flat, depending on the setup. Power Tower shifts the beam into a vertical position to free up surface space, while Power Tray and Power Tray Double integrate storage for small tools and everyday items. Tutto Bene Apartment, Milan⁠ Milan-based design studio Tutto Bene (@tuttobenestudio) transformed a former conference room in the Zona Magenta into a compact 34-square-meter apartment. The layout includes an entrance, living space, kitchen, and bathroom. The kitchen is entirely clad in silver leaf by Maya Romanoff and sealed with a transparent lacquer.
