I cannot believe what a difference this rug made in my living room! It’s so much more vibrant now 😍 I’ve wanted something a little more fun than my plain pink rug ever since I moved in, but this was a holdover from my old house and it just wasn’t in the budget. So a HUGE thank you to @lany_space for gifting me this beautiful rug and making my living room the bright, beautiful, colorful oasis of my dreams!!  As the parent of a very furry cat who sheds a lot and has the occasional hairball, I am especially thrilled that the rug is easy to clean and water-resistant. Especially since the living room is Arrietty’s favorite place to hang! And it was so lightweight, I was able to move it into place and roll it out myself without bribing my little brother to help me out lol! My absolute FAVORITE thing about this rug though is the print quality. I’ve tried so many rugs in the past where the design disappears when you move your hand over it and change the direction of the fibers. Do you know what I mean? This one doesn’t do that, the colors are still vibrant and sharp even if you rub your hand on it. I’m obsessed! Once again, a huge thank you to @lany_space for sending this my way!! Me and my dad went to the May Day rally in Princeton today. This one felt a little more overstimulating to me than the last one so we only stayed for about a half hour (I kept thinking of that sign “it’s so bad even the introverts are here” lol) but I’m glad we participated. A rude student told me to “get an education, babe” as she was walking by, and it was so discouraging. I didn’t say anything in reply, just started sweating and feeling all kinds of emotions. I wanted to tell her about the children who have died because USAID funding was pulled, and the funding cuts to programs that help 9/11 first responders, and all the small businesses that are closing because of the tariffs, and the children who are terrified that ICE agents will come and take their parents away forever. But I just stood there, shocked. I feel like if you are paying any attention at all, you know how bad things are getting. How could you not? But so many people still either aren’t seeing what’s happening, or don’t care, or maybe both. I don’t know. The last year has left me so disillusioned with people in so many ways, but I need to look past the rudeness and instead pay attention to all the people who cared enough to come out today and stand in solidarity with everyone who is hurting and scared right now. There was one - one! - person who was nasty to me, but at least a couple hundred people who were gathered together out of a sense of community, caring, and love. Hopefully there are more of us who care. I have to believe that.

My very last outlet restock is coming your way in May! I’ll be opening my shop up to patrons first and then I’ll open it up to everyone else. I also have about 2 dozen one of a kind bags and samples that I’m going to be putting on ebay after my restock is over. And then that’s it! No more bags ☹️ Obviously the situation with the knock-offs has been very demoralizing. It’s made me feel very hopeless, and my bags don’t bring me the joy that they used to. *BUT* the ~3 years that I was selling these bags and constantly getting messages from people with health conditions who were aided by this bag were SO wonderful. I never advertised it directly as such, but I created this design because I was trying to stay mega-hydrated and recover from two very serious bouts of c-diff. It was such a personal project for me, and when it started selling and people started reaching out to tell me that they also found it useful for their own health needs it was just so rewarding. I just got my first @nuuly box in the mail! I put on some weight in the last year and thought rather than investing in a bunch of new clothes I’d just try subscribing to a rental box for a bit! I really like 5 out of the 6 things I got in my box (not super fond of the sweater vest in the last outfit - it feels too boxy to me!) and I’m going to get a ton of wear out of these this month. Have you ever tried a clothing subscription? I tried one years ago and wasn’t super fond of it but I like the selection here a lot better! I saw a video with this audio the other day and was like 🤯 there is a word for one of my favorite parts of the day!! I hurkle durkle daily, usually after I feed Arrietty her breakfast i’ll climb back into bed for a bit and give myself about 30-40 minutes before I start my day for real.
