Do you want to lose 10 pounds in just a week
Do you want to lose 10 pounds in just a week? Do you want to kickstart your weight loss? Using a Protein Sparing Modified Fast for 7 days can help you do that. While I am not typically an advocate of calorie counting, if your goal is to achieve fast weight loss in a healthy way, I do recommend a short term protein sparing modified fast in which you do need to track your calories and macronutrients. The Research Behind the Protein Sparing Modified Fast This diet seems to be effective diet who are obese or very overweight. Focusing on protein and limiting your calorie intake helps your body to use fat as a primary source of energy, get into ketosis, and burn body fat. Since we are not providing the body with many calories or fats, it needs to dip into its own resources. This diet plan is very high in protein, which acts to protect lean body tissue (muscle and bone) and reduces hunger and cravings. Most people that follow this plan find that they don’t notice a lot of hunger and cravings and compliance is very high compared to many other low-calorie diet plans. Considering the low-calorie content, this diet should not be used by pregnant women, breastfeeding women, athletes, or those who are training for or competing in some sports. It is a great option if you have a lot of weight to lose and you want to kickstart your weight loss goals. How the Protein Sparing Modified Fast Works The Protein Sparing Modified Fast has two phases: an intensive and a refeeding phase. 👉If you are looking for a safe way to lose weight quickly, scroll through infographics to learn more and type “article” in the comments and I Will DM you the Detailed Report on the Protein Sparing Modified Fast!! #weightloss #fatburn #fatburning #nutrition #healthylifestyle #eathealthy #healthyfood #burnfat #burningfat #protein #muscle

Tired of those under-eye bags
Tired of those under-eye bags? Let’s talk about the root causes.  Big bags under your eyes aren’t just about sleepless nights—they often signal lymphatic or liver stagnation. Poor circulation, sluggish bile flow, and an overload of endotoxins can all play a role.  The good news? Simple solutions can help.  Try a castor oil pack over your liver area to improve bile flow and liver function, or gently massage a few drops of castor oil under your eyes to boost oxygenation and support lymphatic drainage.  It’s not just about appearance; it’s about supporting your body’s detox pathways from the inside out.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a brain disorder but it impacts the whole body
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a brain disorder but it impacts the whole body. Inflammation, digestive problems, sleep issues, and other symptoms are common in people with autism. Balancing the gut microbiome, using special personalized nutrition plans, and supplementing with key nutrients can have a profound impact on a person with autism. Food Allergies or Sensitivities Food allergies or sensitivities are more common in individuals with autism. Reactions to food allergies are usually immediate. However, food sensitivities can be difficult to identify because symptoms are usually delayed. One of the most common food allergies/sensitivities is casein, the protein in cow’s milk. Autism is also associated with increased mast cell activation, which results in the release of inflammatory and neurotoxic mediators which may influence ASD associated behaviors. Special Diets That May Be Helpful For Autism There are special diets that can be very beneficial for certain people. For example, eliminating gluten and casein from the diet has been shown to improve symptoms in children with autism. One of the most popular diets for autism is the GAPS diet. Other diets that may be helpful are the low salicylate diet, low oxalate diet, and the ketogenic diet. Histamines and glutamates may also be problematic for certain individuals. One could try each of these diets for 2-4 weeks and see if they notice improvements. If the autistic child gets better with one of the diets, it may be beneficial to lean more into that for a few months. If you are confused on how to implement each one of these, it is a good idea to work with a bioindividulized nutrition practitioner. In This Episode: In this podcast episode, I interview functional nutritionist @juliematthewsnourishinghope and we discuss her new book “The Personalized Autism Nutrition Plan” and we go through the role of food and nutrients in brain, gut and immune function. — > To listen to this podcast episode, comment “Podcast” and I will share the link or you can find the latest episode of the Dr Jockers Functional Nutrition podcast on Apple iTunes, Spotify or YouTube. #nutrition #autism

👉Parents, if you want your children to have a healthy brain and body, get them off of the ultra processed foods! If you are letting your children eat a high processed food diet, you are setting them up for mood, memory and behavioral problems and increasing their risk of developing serious long-term brain problems. A Lancet study concluded that food dyes along with the preservative sodium benzoate (found in many soft drinks, fruit juices, and salad dressings) cause many children to become significantly more hyperactive and distractible. This study also found that food additives and dyes can do as much damage to children’s brains as lead in gasoline. The skin on your face has a unique set of characteristics that are different than any other areas of skin on the body
The skin on your face has a unique set of characteristics that are different than any other areas of skin on the body. Dermatologists have found that distinctions in blood flow, pH level, temperature, moisture, oil content and other characteristics reveal information about the health of other regions of the body. The location of blemishes and other changes on your face’s skin is a result of a distinct relationship with distant tissues or organs. This practice is known as face mapping and has been traditionally used in Chinese Medicine to identify health complications and treat chronic diseases before it develops Your skin is the largest organ that serves as a protective layer and performs essential tasks for your body. The health of your skin is essential not only for your looks but for your overall health. Gut-Skin Connection: Research shows that there is a clear relationship between gut problems and skin disorders such as acne, eczema and rosacea. A 2008 study reported that small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), was 10 times more prevalent in individuals suffering with acne and rosacea than in groups without these skin disorders. The study also showed that the eradication of the SIBO created an almost complete regression of symptoms. One study involving over 13,000 adolescents showed that those with acne were more likely to experience gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, halitosis, and gastric reflux. In particular, abdominal bloating was 37% more likely to be associated with acne and other skin related disorders such as eczema and rosacea. Research has shown that as many as 40% of those with acne have hypochlorhydria. When one has less than adequate stomach acid the body is unable to effectively disinfect the food it consumes. This increases the microbial load on the body which stresses the immune system. In addition, the lack of stomach acid sets the stage for migration of bacteria from the colon towards the distal portions of the small intestine, as well as an alteration of normal intestinal microflora. 👉Comment “Article” and Will DM You Detailed Article on This Topic! #skinhealth #acne #skin #nutrition #wellness

Trans fats are man made hydrogenated or partially-hydrogenated oils that get into the cell membranes and drive up oxidative stress and inflammation
Trans fats are man made hydrogenated or partially-hydrogenated oils that get into the cell membranes and drive up oxidative stress and inflammation. Hydrogenation is a process that turns polyunsaturates, which are normally liquid at room temperature, into fats that are solid at room temperature. Common hydrogenated fats include hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated cottonseed, soy, and corn oils. Margarine and shortening are two hydrogenated fats. Manufacturers use cheap oils, such as soy, corn and canola to create margarine and shortening. Trans fat consumption is linked with a higher risk of the following conditions Insulin Resistance and Type II Diabetes Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease Heart Disease & Stroke ADHD and Learning Disorders Chronic Pain & Inflammation Depression & Anxiety Cancer Autoimmune Disease Research shows that it takes roughly 100 days to cleanse and detoxify them from our cell membranes and reduce the inflammatory damage they activate in the body. The number one fat burning food I recommend is grass-fed red meat
The number one fat burning food I recommend is grass-fed red meat. Why grass-fed? Conventionally raised cows are raised on corn and grain. This is not only unnatural for the cows but may also be treated with pesticides and herbicides. These cows are generally also treated with antibiotics and hormones. When cows eat grass, they get their natural food, and they provide healthy meat. They accumulate omega-3 fatty acids, which support low inflammation levels and cellular health. Grass-fed red meat is also high in CLA, carnitine, and carnosine. CLA or conjugated linoleic acid, is great for turning up your metabolic rate, reducing inflammation, improving immune health, and burning visceral fat. Carnitine is a critical cofactor that helps shuttle fatty acids into the mitochondria to be used for energy. Individuals who are carnitine deficient, will not be able to burn fat effectively. Carnosine helps prevent glycation, oxidative stress and inflammation from damaging muscle tissue. The healthier the muscle tissue, the more insulin sensitive and fat burning will occur. And, of course, protein from red meat is an important macronutrient that helps to reduce hunger and cravings and supports fat-burning and muscle-building. In This Episode: In this podcast episode, I go over the best foods to eat to reduce inflammation and burn fat for fuel. These foods should be a staple part of a healthy diet and lifestyle to optimize metabolic health for all day energy and fat burning! 03:22 Top Seven Foods to Burn Belly Fat Quickly 06:12 Grass-Fed Red Meat: A Fat-Burning Powerhouse 08:00 The Benefits of Pasture-Raised Eggs 10:58 Grass-Fed Butter and Extra Virgin Olive Oil 15:12 Apple Cider Vinegar and Bitter Herbs for Fat Loss 19:00 Wild-Caught Salmon and Avocados — > To listen to this podcast episode, comment “Podcast” and I will share the link or you can find the latest episode of the Dr Jockers Functional Nutrition podcast on Apple iTunes, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen to podcasts. #burnfat #fatburn #nutrition #wellness #healthyliving #healthylifestyle #healthy #naturalhealth #naturalhealing #protein #healthychoices #eathealthy

@angeljockers and I had a great 10th anniversary date last Friday morning where we went to one of our favorite restaurants @tbb_122 in the North Atlanta suburbs for a brunch date. I very rarely ever eat a morning meal as I prefer to fast, but to celebrate our anniversary I had grass-fed steak and eggs, and it was wonderful! We then took a long walk together and enjoyed the beautiful day before heading back home so I could work, and Angel could do some homeschooling with our kids. Later that night, we went to our favorite evening restaurant – Ted’s Montana Grill and enjoyed bison burgers (bunless of course!) and great conversation and watched the movie Reagan back at the house at night. If you missed it, Angel and I did a podcast episode where we went over some of the biggest life lessons we have learned in 10 years of marriage. We are very open and vulnerable in our discussion, and I think you will get a lot of value out of it no matter where you are in life. —->Comment with “Podcast” and I Will DM you a Link to the Podcast Episode! Supporting thyroid function is essential for promoting metabolism and aiding normal growth and neurological development
Supporting thyroid function is essential for promoting metabolism and aiding normal growth and neurological development. When thyroid health suffers, the ability of the whole body to maintain homeostasis is thrown off balance. 1. Iodine: Thyroid function is dependent on the presence of iodine used to manufacture thyroid hormones T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine). However, the balance of iodine in the body is critical because deficiency and excess iodine are both associated with thyroid dysfunction. Depleted iodine concentrates are shown to favor the degeneration of the thyroid gland which subsequently alters the nervous system. Those most susceptible to the psychological and neurological deficits of iodine deficiency are premature infants and children. Some of the richest sources of dietary iodine are found in quality marine products. Kelp contains the greatest concentration while other sea vegetables like dulse and nori seaweed provide dietary iodine as well. 2. Selenium: The concentration of selenium in cells is critical for supporting the enzyme 5-deiodinase which converts T4-T3 and degrades the inactive rT3 and reduces thyroid antibody formation. Selenium deficiency is associated with a weakened immune system and autoimmune diseases including cancer and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Restoring levels of selenium through an individual’s diet supports antioxidant pathways, improves hormone metabolism, controls inflammatory responses, and repairs thyroid cell and tissue damage. The best source of selenium in food is found in Brazil nuts which offer the recommended daily value of selenium in only 2 nuts. Other excellent sources include sardines, and pasture-raised poultry like turkey, chicken, and eggs. 3. Zinc: Zinc is a trace mineral required for thyroid hormone synthesis amongst other vital processes that upregulates antioxidants and a healthy immune response. A clinical study of a woman with zinc deficiency and hypothyroidism exhibited dry and scaly skin lesions, hair loss, weakness, and depression. —>Comment with “Article” and I Will DM You Detailed Article on Thyroid Nutrients! #thyroid #nutrition #nutrients #healthy #wellness

👉For some reason, a lot of people got upset at my last post about stopping Daylight Savings Time and switching our clocks 2 times each year because they believe that Spring Forward and changing our ⏰ ahead an hour increases the amount of sun exposure each day. 👉This is wrong, it simply pushes back the time of sunrise and sunset - so later sunrises and sunsets. The reason the days are longer in the spring and summer in the Northern Hemisphere is due to the tilt of the Earth towards the sun. 👉The Days will ALWAYS BE LONGER during the spring and summer in the Northern Hemisphere regardless of whether we continue to change our clocks every spring!! 👉The Reason Changing our Clocks an Hour Every Spring and Fall Increases all cause Mortality is because it forces a dysfunction in our circadian rhythms which is has a negative impact on our health and for some individuals who already have health issues, this can be enough to lead to a serious health crisis. 👉There is simply no good reason to continue to manipulate our ⏰ every year to change the time of sunrise and sunset. #sleep #healthychoices #healthylife #health #wellness #naturalhealing #naturalhealth #hearthealth #eathealthy #sunshine

B12 deficiency is one of the most common and overlooked conditions in the world
B12 deficiency is one of the most common and overlooked conditions in the world. Vitamin B12 is involved in the metabolism of every cell of the body. It is crucial for processes such as DNA synthesis and energy production. B12 deficiencies are a hidden epidemic in our society. Boost your energy and mental clarity with high quality sources of Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is very critical for neurological, cardiovascular, digestive, & immunological function. Together, B12 and folate reduce the metabolic end-product homocysteine. This pathway is responsible for the body’s entire sulfur-based detoxification system. Vitamin B12 Deficiency: Many researchers believe that the standard American tests that measure serum B12 levels are far too low. B12 deficiency is present in close to 50% of people over 60 years of age. It’s entirely possible that at least some of the symptoms we attribute to “normal” aging – such as memory loss, cognitive decline, decreased mobility, etc. – are at least in part caused by B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 Deficiency & Chronic Disease Vitamin B12 deficiencies are associated with chronic diseases. B12 deficiencies lead to high homocysteine which is a strong risk factor in cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Mood disorders such as depression and bipolar are very much associated with B12 deficiencies. Researchers found that a diet deficient in folate, B12, & B6 caused cognitive dysfunction and a significant reduction in the length & density of brain capillaries. This increases neurodegenerative conditions in the body leading to dementia and often times peripheral neuropathy. —>Comment “Link” and I Will Send You the Detailed Article and Video on How to Address B12 Deficiencies. —>Check Out The Infographics and My Story to Learn More!! #b12 #vitaminb12 #nutrition #nutrients #wellness #healthyliving #healthylifestyle #naturalhealing #naturalhealth #health #healthy #healthychoices #eathealthy #methylation #brainhealth #brain #hearthealth
