The vapor test in the flesh. That’s right, this was it. Noninvasive and quick. I’ve had this test applied to my milk a handful of times not and each one was similar to the previous. ‌ Tips✈️ •You may request a hand check prior to the X-ray test. I’m no pro at traveling, I actually hate it, at least until I am at my gate waiting to board. The anxiety of packing, praying you don’t forget anything, getting through TSA and then the actual flight itself all can really rattle my nerves. Let’s just say, my calling would never be anything including aviation. Surprisingly enough, to date- April ‘25, I’ve traveled to Miami, San Diego, Las Vegas and Philadelphia all while breastfeeding! I’m glad to report there’s been no major hick ups, but it’s still a tad stressful each time since you don’t know who or what you’ll be dealing with. So let me shed some light on what’s worked for me! Tubing was mean for cutting, that’s why the roll comes so long. Don’t be afraid to shorten your tubes! It’s not rocket science, it’s air tube! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘀𝗲? Lipase is an enzyme found in all milk, which helps baby break down, digest and absorb breastmilk. ‌ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲? There’s no hard evidence to support the true cause but it is thought that having an excess of the lipase enzyme may cause this change in breastmilk. ‌ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀? This answer may can vary mom to mom. What we do know is that time and temperature can play a factor. ‌ 𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼?! I’d recommend checking your breastmilk following a fresh pump session or expression. Check every hour to every couple of hours to see when the change occurs! This can occur for some moms after a few hours in the refrigerator, while it may take a few days for others. ‌ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴?! Unfortunately similarly to not knowing the true cause of high lipase, we also don’t know how to stop it. It’s been said, a gluten-free diet, or a non high processed diet may fix the issue. We don’t have any hard evidence proving either of these to be the solution but a girl can hope. ‌ @legendairymilk offers Barrier Bags, which are said to stop milk from 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨! every.single.morning for basically the last 7 years. ‌ Every morning I wake and pump, this session never seems to end. It’s always my longest pump of the day and you can see why. It’s the most milk to remove after no full milk removals during the night, yes little dude nurses sometimes during the MOTN. ‌ If you’ve ever been told, ‌ 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘶𝘮𝘱 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 15 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴.. ‌ whatever you do, let that go in one ear and out the other! This is not accurate or supportive advice. If I stopped after 15 minutes, even during a regular session- I’d absolutely be leaving milk behind. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆. ‌ Do you need to pump for the 45 minutes like I did in this video? Probably not! But you’ll know your body best as you continue to learn your supply, pump and body’s response time. ‌ 𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 would be to aim for 25-30 minutes while double pumping. As days and weeks pass and you become more in tune with your body and you may be able to back off on those longer sessions! ‌ 𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 ⏰ ‌ ⚡️7a - 45 minutes ‌ ⚡️all subsequent sessions on 3.5 hour spreads- 30 minutes ‌ ⚡️If I pop a session in before the 3.5 hour hits- I won’t pump for 30 minutes, only about 15-20 minutes ‌ ⚡️While I’m using mobiles - I’ll likely turn them back on after 30 minutes to ensure I moved as much as I could! *mobiles need some extra time in the bra, as I’ve found* ‌ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽!? ‌ ‌
