WOW! We were so excited to see our customer and guest curator of a new Met exhibition on Black style, Monica Miller, photographed wearing her Buttoned Up dress in the New York Times this weekend! The exhibition, titled "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" will be inaugurated by the Met Gala, and explores the influences of Black dandyism over 300 years. The exhibition runs May 10th through Oct 26th; if you're in the New York area, this is not one to miss!

On this bright spring Monday, we wanted to shine a light on our customer and author, Patrice Gopo! ☀️🪻Patrice looked absolutely fabulous in her Art Basil dress this past Saturday for the book launch of her second picture book, Ripening Time, which was celebrated over Indie Bookstore Day at Main Street Books in Davidson, NC! 💓 Patrice told us: Ripening Time is the story of a young narrator waiting across a week for plantains to ripen. It's about food and family and inspired by my experience growing up in Anchorage, Alaska as the daughter of Jamaican immigrants." Happy Earth Day! We’re so proud to work with a manufacturing partner in Soko Kenya that prioritizes social and environmental sustainability, and to know that our clothes are being made with such attention to impact. Solar panels provide over 75% of the electricity for the factory, and a rainwater catchment system means that all the prewashing for our fabrics is done with this collected water, with the sun doing the work for drying! Additionally, we repurpose our fabric offcuts for items like our patchwork totes and quilted jackets, diverting 5500 lbs of fabric waste each year from landfills. Finally, we’re delighted to bring new life through Common Threads by mending, repairing and refreshing your old Zuris! All in all, sustainability is an ongoing, daily effort and we’re proud to prioritize it each and every day! ☀️ #justonedress #heyzuri

Katie is taking our newest batiks out for a spin, just in time for spring! Handprinted in Ghana on airy, breezy 100% cotton, these dresses will be your new go-to all season long! ☀️ #justonedress

We couldn’t be more proud of our newest batiks! For the last seven years it’s been a pleasure to work with Edwina and her wonderful team of artisans to produce our handprinted batik fabrics in Winneba, Ghana. Here you can see the process for making our new Reality Check fabric. It starts with applying the wax design onto the fabric, which you can see Louis doing here. The fabric then goes into a dye bath, is hung outside in the sun for the color to set, and is then placed in boiling water to remove the wax (which Hannah is doing, above). Once this is done, it’s dried in the beautiful sunshine, and then packed and shipped off to Kenya to be cut and sewn into tops! Each step of this process takes incredible time, skill and artistry, and we’re so grateful to the team for their hard work and for helping to create such joy and beauty! ☀️ #justonedress
