What a blessed life. The odds of you being alive are astronomical, and it’s not for nothing. There’s an interesting dichotomy in my body of followers here at 1924us, some who feel so much pain, and others who feel so much joy, often they are just a sliver away from feeling the other, but both do tremendous jobs holding on to their current position. To the hurting, joy seems fake and bitter, the the joyful, pain seems silly and a spectacle. Both have their case, but both are needed in this world. However if we allow the certainty of either to define us in our entirety we become calcified and unable, or unwilling to hear those who might differ from us. So I wrote this as an approach to both of those perspectives, through hardship joy blossoms, and in joy we can recognize great tragedy. I made a design a while back that says “never lucky, always blessed” because often times we equate randomness to our lives. For me, I feel there is something much greater at work here than I can ever understand, and the coincidences are not lost on me as randomly generated moments. I’m 33 now, and I can remember exactly being 13, and being so stressed about how I could ever afford a home, or even go to college, I was overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. I carried that with me well into my early 20’s going through unimaginable strain, and I look back in anguish and wince how I could ever complain in such a good life. But still, our feelings are what they are - even when they’re wrong. The ability to feel is what makes us human, and what gives us humanity is how we act on them. I am feeling so incredibly blessed today, I feel a deep joy I have never known before. I hope very much all of you can reach it, even if it doesn’t last for a single one of us. Venture Onward.
