Hero Friday: Commander Trond André Bolle Today, we honor Norwegian Special Operations Commander Trond André Bolle—a warrior of rare grit, who gave everything on June 27, 2010, killed by an IED while leading combat operations in Faryab, Afghanistan. Trond wasn’t just a soldier—he was a leader, a legend, a man who earned the War Cross with Sword for his fearless actions in the field. It was the first time that medal was awarded post-WWII. That says everything. He left behind his wife, Bjørg, and two sons, Odin and Håkon. And he left behind a standard of toughness, loyalty, and courage most only talk about. We don’t take that lightly.
