A member of the elite 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, SSG Loredo lived the creed of a paratrooper—serving with unwavering resolve, unmatched courage, and relentless commitment. On June 24th, 2010, in Jelewar, Afghanistan, SSG Loredo was killed in action when his unit was attacked by an IED. At just 34 years old, he left behind a legacy of leadership and valor—survived by his wife, First Sergeant Jennifer Loredo, his daughter Laura Isabelle, stepdaughter Alexis, and son Edwardo Enrique. His sacrifice is not just a name etched in stone, but a reminder of what true duty, honor, and brotherhood look like. This isn’t just another Friday. This is Hero Friday.
