Fijian sunrises are something else, slow, quiet, and the kind of start that makes you feel like the day’s going your way. We got a few waves to begin, fun and easy, settling into it, until the vibe shifted with a couple of comments in the lineup and suddenly it wasn’t so mellow. By the afternoon things went off script, shooting on the sandbar… until we got stuck, in a boat, on a sandbar. Once we got moving again and wrapped, we headed to Cloudbreak… because of course we did.
