#PeopleofKurasu : Rina Meet Rina Tamura, Cafe Manager at our Ebisugawa store. Her journey is a story of following one’s heart, embracing new cultures, and finding strength in kindness. Rina’s path began with a passion for design, which led her to study in San Francisco. It was there, at the original Blue Bottle Coffee, that a memorable cup of El Salvadoran coffee changed her course. This experience inspired her to join Blue Bottle’s first team in Japan @bluebottlejapan where she spent six years growing as a barista and leader. Seeking to broaden her horizons, Rina moved to Denmark to work at the renowned La Cabra @lacabracoffee Coffee Roasters. Immersing herself in a new culture, she was entrusted as head barista, learning the importance of collaboration and diverse perspectives. Now at Kurasu, Rina brings together her experiences from both iconic brands. She was drawn to Kurasu’s unique blend of structure and freedom. As a manager, she aims to build a team that is “soft, yet strong,” leading with her core value: yasashisa, or kindness. For Rina, coffee is more than just taste—it’s about creating a moment of comfort and connection. Rina’s story is a testament to the power of embracing unexpected paths and the beautiful connections made along the way.
