We are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder, John Simms. John was a guide, an angler, an artist, and a craftsman at heart. Long before Simms became a company known around the world, he was simply a person who loved being on the water and believed the gear anglers relied on could be better. Driven by curiosity and an unwavering passion for fishing, John spent his life solving problems. Whether rowing a boat, guiding clients, or developing innovative products, he was always searching for a better way — not for the sake of innovation itself, but to improve the experience of being on the water. What began in Jackson Hole as one guide’s pursuit of better waders helped shape the future of fishing gear and influenced generations of anglers worldwide. His commitment to quality, functionality, and craftsmanship established the foundation that Simms was built upon and helped define a standard for the industry that still endures today. We are grateful for John’s contributions to the sport and honored to continue serving the angling community that meant so much to him. Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. 🧡

@bonefishtarpontrust just completed the first phase of tidal creek restoration on Grand Bahama Island — cutting through an old logging causeway at West Gap Creek to reconnect habitat that’s been severed for decades.
