Letters to Mom is a campaign that’s very close to my heart. Not just because I spent days writing these letters, or because I had the privilege of listening to story after story from friends, customers, and siblings. But because, in doing so, I found myself quietly reliving my own relationship with my mother. I cried many times while writing these letters. I read them aloud to a few people. Cried again. And when I finally shared them with my mom, she was the most moved of all. This project reminded me how universal yet deeply personal the bond with a mother is, yet how complex it is. I hope these letters speak to you too. Even if just one of them stays with you or reminds you of your own mom, or helps you express your feelings, our job is done here. Starting tomorrow morning and through the weekend, I’ll be sharing these letters here. I promise you: this page is about to be filled with some truly wholesome reads. If you’re born in the 80s, you’ve 100% danced to Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyan Hain. Probably with zero choreography and max drama. I mean, how could you not? Sridevi was magic. This time, it’s about our latest motif-one that’s close to our hearts and deeply rooted in culture: the pomegranate, or as we fondly call it, anar.❤️✨ Across the world, the anar has come to symbolise prosperity and abundance. And it’s easy to see why-with its rich, saturated colour, its delicate cobweb-like structure inside, and that unmistakable sweetness-it’s a fruit that feels like a celebration in itself. At Pinklay, we’ve explored many interpretations of the anar over the years, but our latest one is extra special-it’s the largest we’ve ever created. Bold, joyful, and full of life. Outtakes from a shoot we stretched till the very last minute—because how do you stop when you’re having that much fun? Jaipur, with all its charm and chaos, had us wrapped around its little finger. Even in 42 degrees, with makeup melting and tempers flaring (just a little), we were still in love.❤️ It’s the kind of place that overwhelms your senses—in the best way. Colour therapy? Always. You ever feel like you're always showing up for people? Like, being the listener, the friend, the helper, the giving kind, the "I'll manage, don't worry about me" person? Same! ✨ At some point, I realised I had become a bridge. Strong and steady—for everyone else to walk over. But I wasn’t watering myself. I wasn’t resting, receiving, or even asking. And here’s the thing—we’re taught that giving is good. That being selfless is admirable. Which it is - but no one tells you what happens when selflessness turns into self-neglect. It’s not pretty. You start to feel invisible. Exhausted. A little resentful, even. That’s when I learned something big: You can still be kind. You can still be giving. But you have to choose people who pour into you too. You deserve that. We all do. Being generous doesn’t mean you give endlessly. It means you give wisely—without losing yourself in the process.
