We are on our way to Chicago today to introduce our @annamariatextiles April release to shop owners at @hhamericas. One of the extra exciting things about the event for us is a fashion show that we’re participating in. Juliana and I have relished in creating 3 looks that combine our four collections of fabric this season. Such good timing too as I introduce my new Rosebud Quilted Coat pattern and reintroduce my Painted Portrait Dress pattern (for October). I first issued that pattern in 2011 and have had countless requests to bring it out of retirement. 🥰 It is so lovely to be partnering with @northcottfabric who support all the fabric types I dream of for a handmade wardrobe! Sharing the down time between customers in our Paducah @craftsouth booth with Juliana was a highlight of our trip. By the third day we each had to keep our fingers busy with some improvisational appliqué. Her little sculptural block was fun to watch come together. She mostly used the Sweet Sixteen print, cut into each individual color as her palette. We’ve worked together full time now for almost two years in the studio and Juliana is now officially joining in the fabric design category too. Her first collection for @annamariatextiles is now shared in our April lookbook at annamariatextiles.com. So much beauty on the way!🌷🥰

Off to a lovely start at our second @craftsouth booth day @aqsonline show in Paducah! What a friendly and fun bunch of quilters! We have loads of beautiful quilt kits and fabric and patterns from the archives. I’ve also seen lots of other shop partners selling the brand new @annamariatextiles fabrics! This is our last in person show with @craftsouth for the foreseeable future as we focus on design in the studio. Creative PSA: 📣 It’s Spring in Tennessee and I’m wearing a new dress made out of my @annamariatextiles Garden Variety yarn-dyed wovens arriving to stores in late May. This is my Here & There Dress available on my website. Also, it’s a busy Thursday as I put finishing touches on other almost finished garments that I want to share with you soon. ALSO also we’re getting ready to be in Paducah for AQS with @craftsouth next week (booth 4008)! More soon, K bye, 😘

How are my kids old enough for their friends to be having babies? 🥹🥹 I beamed inside and out when Eleni told me she wanted to make her new mother friend a quilt a while ago. I guess I expected asks for help. Instead she just walked in yesterday with the start of her first patchwork made from a repurposed sweatshirt and vintage pieces. It reminds me so much of the baby quilts my mom used to make to donate. In fact it is so much like the one my mom made for baby Eleni. I beamed brighter. I guess she knows how to do this already. 🤣 A big step up from her mini hand stitched and stuffed patchwork pillows that lived on her little girl bed for years. Proud. 😇
