Introducing New Farm-Fresh Skincare Products
Traditional skills like foraging and herbalism should be second nature to us all, passed down throughout the generations. • Through modern advancements, technological evolutions, and easy conveniences, many of us have gotten lost and forgotten these methods of old. • And it has been my mission to keep this torch of traditional knowledge burning and the craft of sustainable wildcrafting alive through doing, and teaching, these lost ways. • Being outside every day. Living slowly. Looking at life through a microscope. Being right here in the very moment. No, in the very second. Beholding the wonder that’s all around us every single day. • Foraging, growing, cultivating. Feeling nature. • Knowing rhythms. Experiencing God. Hands in the soil. Silence. • Raising animals. • Mixing and blending. Trimming and cutting. Infusing. • Hearing the wind. Seeing the sun. Feeling the rain. • Hot. Cold. Sweat. Tears. Laughter. • Abundance. Scarcity. • Life. Death. • This is my life. This is my job. • Intertwined. So blessed. So grateful. • How could I not give this back to you?! • Put it back out into the universe?! • All this beauty?! All this love?! My GOD!! • Delight in what the Lord has given to us!! To steward!! To experience!! To use!! To know!! To live!! To love!! • This drop I bring to you infused oils and balms crafted with dandelions and henbit gathered from our farm and seasonal goat milk whips in light and bright infusions made with the thick spring cream from our goats! • The whipped tallows are getting richer from the spring pasture butchers and the natural bug balm and tallow-based sunscreens and jewel weed salves are stocked up and ready to protect you from summer’s ornery pests! • And if you are new here, you’ve got to try our big, large bars of natural soaps that are handcrafted as well! • They are the true key to my heart and are by far the rhythm of this small batch, farm-fresh skincare line. • Our drop is live over at www.wcfmarket.com and your support not only allows us to continue to teach others these ways, but continues a tradition and supports a family, too. ☺️🙏 • Have an amazing weekend and be blessed! 💕🫶☺️ - - - #naturalskincare #farmfresh

Ah, counterculture
Ah, counterculture. • My favorite! • I swear in another life- I was a salmon…always swimming upstream. • I trailblaze my own path and I make my own way. • I aspire to be a legend. • A stand out. • One who is tenacious and ingenuitive and hard working. • A truth-seeker. • I stand out from the herd. • I will not turn my back. • I will rally for what is right and true and just. • And sometimes…a LOT of times…that looks like a life of persecution and not holding the popular opinion. • Being led by spirit and not flesh is not the easiest path. • It’s often the hardest. • You must have grit and dig your heels in hard. • Be strong and willful. • We were never told it would be easy…doing what is right. • We were never promised an easy life. • Rejecting social norms. • Rejecting consumerism. • Rejecting Government control. • Rejecting social pressures. • Guarding our hearts and thinking for ourselves. • Cultivating a life of community-sustainability and small, local, community government. • I used to be pretty punk rock. • Like, real punk. • You know, total anarchy. • But through the years, even the punk movement-(the most well-known of counter-culture groups) have let me down. • Slowly conforming and morphing into social justice warriors. • So you’d say I’ve gone from punk to prairie (hints the name of my blog-frompunktoprairie 😂💕) • And this movement has been steadily brewing. • And you know what’s crazy?! • Don’t let the floral dresses, aprons, and farm-life fool you. • Us homesteaders are about as gritty and punk as it gets. • It’s a new era. • With new generations of homesteaders and farmers….of all ages and walks of life! • We’re not “uneducated”, “behind”, or “poor”. • We are strong, smart, and capable! • We have rejected conformity! • And have chosen to live for ourselves! • And welcome the freedom that comes with it!!! • Dresses by @notperfectlinen Apron by @americangiant Hat by @stetsonusa Hat band by @miakodaleather Shirt by @naturallife - - - #farmfashionfriday #homesteader #believer #homestead

As an herbalist and ditch-flower forager, we’ve been working with, and chatting about, the current in-season flowers and herbs God is currently gifting us in just the right time, in just the right season
As an herbalist and ditch-flower forager, we’ve been working with, and chatting about, the current in-season flowers and herbs God is currently gifting us in just the right time, in just the right season. • One of those being the beloved dandelion! • I’ve always loved dandelions and thought it was sad they are considered a weed. • Especially because of those soil-healing, long taproots! • But also for their medncinal properties, and the color alone is incredible and bold and are the picture of sunshine! • They do have a season – spring time - but you can pretty much find them anywhere or grow them on your own anytime! • Since we’ve covered how to forage them, how to preserve them, and how to make an infused oil from them- it’s time to move on (see how herbalism builds?!) to an herbal balm as old as time. • A balm is basically a way of applying herbs and/or oils to your skin to heal it. • They can be used to treat skin irritations, rashes, bites, burns, sore muscles and much, much more, depending on the herb used, and the carrier oil being worked with. • Remember those ratios I gave to you a couple weeks to commit to memory? • You’ll apply it here, no recipe needed! See! • To make a balm, you start with an oil infusion to “brew” certain herbs for specific treatments. (See the last few weeks of posts) • Some infusions can take 6-8 weeks to fully infuse into a carrier oil. • Then you mix the infused oil with beeswax or soy wax, essential oils (optional) and you have your balm! • That ratio I mentioned…4:1! • Just add four equal parts of your dandelion infused oil to one part of beeswax and now you have this balm! • That’s it! • Though you can always get creative and add other herbs or other oil blends or essential oils too! • This balm is great for inflammation, joint pain, and overall hydration and if you don’t want to make this yourself, as always, grab it over at www.wcfmarket.com! • Our restock is tomorrow Friday May 9th at 10am cst! - - - #balm #salve #herbalsim #herbalist #herbalistsofinstagram #dandelions #forage #plantsaremedicine #wildcrafted #herbs #skincare #homestead #plantremedies #remedies

So I hacked a setting on my phone to make it omit red light, but everything is literally red
So I hacked a setting on my phone to make it omit red light, but everything is literally red! 😩 • This solves that problem. Decreases my blue light exposure and increases my red light exposure, because girl, you can only imagine how much screen time I get a day! Ugh! • That’s why I LOVE products like this! To help us tech girls combat the ill effects of using these advances! • Let’s cover some frequently asked questions real quick before I give you a discount from @bodyguardz • Is it safe to use red light therapy all the time? The Red Light Converter is designed for safe, everyday use. It emits low levels of red light, making it gentle on your skin, and your eyes. • Will the Red Light Converter affect the way my phone’s screen looks? The Red Light Converter maintains true-to-life colors with minimal color shift and no impact on touch responsiveness. • You will notice a subtle red hue on the protector’s edges and in direct sunlight—a unique reminder of the wellness benefits you’re gaining. Rest assured, your phone screen won’t emit a bright red light. • What is photoluminescent technology? Our Red Light Converter uses cutting-edge photoluminescent technology to transform your phone’s light into beneficial red light. This process involves tiny semiconductors called quantum dots, which emit specific colors of light when activated. By precisely adjusting the size of these quantum dots with our specialized nano-semiconductor material, we can control the color and direction of the emitted light, ensuring it’s converted into the therapeutic red light wavelengths. • How does this compare to red light masks and panels? The Red Light Converter offers a uniquely convenient and accessible way to incorporate red light therapy into your daily life. While it may not offer the same intensity as larger red light panels or masks, it provides continuous and effortless exposure throughout your day. Simply attach it to your phone screen and let it work its magic as you go about your routine. • And yes! You can still use your phone case too! • Check out our stories for a link and enter code “Tonya5” to get $5 off your purchase! And their site is offering 20% off already too!

We’re a bit off my pages niche today, but not too much…because to be honest, my page is just about “me/us” and whatever I’m (we’re/the family is) doing! • Which tends to be a lot and often! 🤣 • Here’s some still frames of my recently finished powder room that we’ve all decided is called maybe “Gypsy chic” or “celestial goth”…someone else said “whimsigoth”. Love it all. • Feel free to name my design aesthetic below, as long as it’s nice. 🤣🤩🙌 • All I know is I design what I like and my husband makes it happen. (He likes it too, side note!) • The maximalist and vintage collector in myself is so happy with my powder room! • SO HAPPY. • But I mean, did you see the before?! 🤣🤣🤣 • Now on to the next! • Which is the kitchen! Since we’ve moved to our farm, we’ve had it on our never-ending list of to-dos to give our place our own little personal uplift
Since we’ve moved to our farm, we’ve had it on our never-ending list of to-dos to give our place our own little personal uplift. • But this property was never farmed either. So first thing was first. • And that was getting the farm going. • So now, several years later, we are able to have some time to get into some of the fun aesthetic things of our home to really make it ours! • And lucky for me, Jason was a contractor before I retired him to work for this company, so we’re in good hands! • Time to put our own stamp on it! • And we’re, uh, pretty unique, so hold on to your butts as we change some things up around here. • 🤣🤣🤣 • And this powder room project has been one of many going on here at the WCF! • I’ve been posting on this little budget friendly project on our stories as we’ve went over the past month and were finally finished! • When we started, I knew I wanted a gold, moody apothecary-like powder room to keep all my skincare tools and wonders. • A special place for me and my expensive things, away from the kids. • And then, being the maximalist I am, sort of winged it from there. Adding as I went. • At one point, we even changed the ceiling entirely because I didn’t like the original wallpaper we had hung. • We swapped it out for the wood grain contact paper that we used on the vanity instead, and it was a major win, after adding simple gold stars! Love! • And speaking of contact paper, nearly the entire room is done in contact paper. My favorite trick to uplift a room on a clean, quick, and cheap way! • The gold paper- will use, and recommend, again and again, holy smokes! • And the beaded curtain- going in all our windows! • The chandelier- all our fixtures are converting to this now! • And the vintage gold wall-hanging jewelry box, dead! Omg! ☠️ • And now I want to do our attached master bedroom in a heaven theme with a mural on the ceiling in light blues and golds to mirror the dark powder room. • I had mentioned I had no idea what aesthetic this is. • I don’t care. I design how I want and what feels good. Same goes for how I dress. • However- someone did mention it looked like the inside of a gypsy’s stagecoach and I approve of that. 🤩

It’s super gratifying to find plants in your environment that are medicinal and can be used for food and medicine alike
It’s super gratifying to find plants in your environment that are medicinal and can be used for food and medicine alike! • But not every plant is medicinal. • And I get sent pictures and videos daily this time of year, asking me to identify a plant with hopes there’s something it can be “used” for. • We shouldn’t just train our eye to identify the plants we are wanting to find- but to also be able to distinguish apart. • Visual plant identification is crucial when foraging to ensure safety and maximize the benefits of wild foods. • Accurate identification allows foragers to distinguish edible plants from poisonous or inedible ones, preventing accidental poisoning or illness. • It also helps in recognizing plants with specific medicinal properties or other useful attributes. • Let’s break it down to my top 6 “whys” plant identification is important for foragers: • 1) Safety: Knowing what plants are edible and which are toxic is paramount. Many plants have look-alikes, and incorrect identification can have serious consequences. • 2) Effective Foraging: Proper identification allows foragers to efficiently locate and harvest the specific plants they are seeking, whether for food, medicine, or other uses. • 3) Understanding Ecology: Learning about plant identification helps foragers develop a deeper understanding of their local ecosystem and the interactions between plants and their environment. • 4) Maximizing Benefits: Knowing the nutritional value, medicinal properties, and other uses of different plants allows foragers to make the most of their foraging efforts. • 5) Conservation: Identifying plants can help foragers understand how to harvest them sustainably and avoid over-collecting or damaging rare species. • 6) Skill Development: Learning to identify plants is a rewarding skill that can be applied to many different aspects of foraging and understanding the natural world. • Though not all plants can be “used” let’s remember that they’re still there for a reason, to feed the pollinators, or if nothing else, to add some beauty and brighten your soul. • Which if you ask me, is still useful. 🥰 - - - #foraging #forage #spring #herbalist #herbalism

Ok, with 6 kids, I’ve learned a few tricks through the years with making sure they are getting the very best nourishing diet…in one way or another
Ok, with 6 kids, I’ve learned a few tricks through the years with making sure they are getting the very best nourishing diet…in one way or another! • Even in the form of deceit. 🤣🤣🤣 • I’ve definitely been known to slip in all the good stuff in my family’s food without them even knowing. • Well, by now, they’re on to me- but they don’t mind, because they can’t even taste what I’m adding in there, anyways, and they like the treats too, so they can’t complain. • You know, some liver in their smoothies, some bee pollen in their yogurt, some collagen sprinkled over their dinner….that’s how I roll. • And today, is another one of those tricks I’ve got up my sleeves, “gummy bears” that give my kids the chewy feeling of candy, but they are actually low in sugar and good for them! • And every time you see me making these for my kids in our stories- you all wanted the recipe! So let’s go! • I take elderberry syrup and turn them into gummies. I take kombucha and turn them into gummies. I take various fermented honey concoctions and turn them into gummies. I take the wild grape juice I make and…you guessed it…turn them into gummies. • I really have no limit to the gummies I’ll make for the kids, as long as they’re good for them! • And it’s amazing how the kids will pass on a glass of booch, but gobble up the kombucha gummy bears. • And that’s ok. I’m here for it! I can’t say that I blame them for wanting a cute little gummy bear or squiggly little worm, instead. • And it’s a win for all, because they get what they want-and I get what I want too. • Now, will the cooking process breakdown some of the medicinal benefits in the gummies, themselves? • Yes, surely. But even if it does a bit, it’s still a nice healthy treat option for them that’s NOT CANDY. • Ok, so here’s the recipe and you can use ANY liquid base to start with that is right for your family, or is what you’d really like them to be consuming, but won’t in other liquid versions. • The ones I made for my family, here, are red bud and raspberry flavored and they are a favorite! • Read the pinned comments to find the super easy recipe! - - - - #holistic #gummies

What is Tallow
What is Tallow? Tallow is a super special fat that comes from cattle. When we’re talking SKINCARE- there’s definitely a certain fat you want from the cow. The fat you’re looking for is leaf fat. • Quality Matters. Now if your animal isn’t grassfed and exposed to sun, the levels of CLA that is found in your leaf fat will also be greatly reduced! And the main thing you want in tallow skincare IS the CLA! • What’s CLA?! CLA-is an omega-5 fatty acid, has significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and has been shown to stimulate epidermal regeneration! It also protects against uv rays and prevents fine lines and wrinkles from even forming! • Why tallow for my skin? Tallow moisturizers are also packed with nutrients and they have similar fat saturation levels as we do, making it easy for our body to absorb! Our tallow whip also contains vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12, which can all be beneficial to your skin health and appearance! • Is it greasy? No! Actually, the opposite! Our body absorbs it and uses it! Given tallow’s organic compatibility with our skin, it works as a natural sebum locking in moisture and nutrients without clogging your pores! • Does it…smell? Unscented tallow does have a slightly “beefy” scent. But the higher quality fat that’s used, and the better it’s rendered, the less smell it has. We like to keep our products as natural as possible, and the more things we add to our products, the less diverse it becomes. You can add a few drops of essential oils to your hands, and then some tallow, blend, and apply as needed! We do have some scented options, as well. • What’s it feel like? Have you ever wore a makeup primer? Just like that. Silky and fine-line-blurring! • How much do I need? A dime size! • It treats skin conditions. These properties are what make our tallow whip so great for skin conditions including dry, chapped, calloused, cracked, and sun-damaged skin, rashes, burning, itching, eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles, and so on! WCF Tallow Whip gives the skin the nutrients it needs to heal itself and the natural oil to keep the moisture and nutrients in! • Restocks every other Friday at www.wcfmarket.com

I have a lot of aprons
I have a lot of aprons. • I collect them, I sew them, I buy them. I wear them with dresses and to work on the farm. I just love them! • I’ve got lots of places to go and things to hold, okay?! • I mean, I may even be a self-proclaimed apron connoisseur by now 🤣 • But I have to tell you, I may not have a use for my others. • Because these utility aprons by @roogardening are IT!! • The canvas, the color options, the integrity and structure, the nylon lining, the kangaroo-like pockets to hold big harvests, and then, yes! be able to dump it…have me SWOONING over these aprons! • The design is SO clever! • I’m convinced the owners must have some serious skin in the gardening and farming game, b raise they thought of it all! • They offer this half style in the purple I’m wearing, which I grab most, because I love a half apron! • But they also have a full coverage style that holds…you guessed it…eggs! for an option as well! • The sizes are adjustable and generous too! • And best of all…wait for it…the price! • You’re gonna love it and that’s why I have to share; because this thrifty gal LOVES an affordable price point! • They retail for just $35 and $48!!! • AND you can stack my discount on top of it for another ten percent off!! 🤯 • I got a code for you if you want an additional 10 percent off too, enter code “wildfarm” at checkout to grab it! • Because I only partner with the very most bad a** products that I not only love, but literally use around our farm, home, and family! • Have an amazing day and keep being you! 😘💕🫶 - - - - #apron #apronstyle #aprons #farm #farmher #womeninag #gardening #garden #farmfashion #smallfarm #farmstead #homestead #inthegarden #homesteader #homesteadersofinstagram #believer #gardeninspiration #ourfarm #farmfresh #growyourownfood

For us that raise sheep, you know that when we shear, we are left with almost 20 percent waste
For us that raise sheep, you know that when we shear, we are left with almost 20 percent waste. • And then you’re left with the thought-what to do with all this fiber that can’t be spun?! • Did you know you can put wool in your garden to provide your plants with big doses of nitrogen, phosphorus, keep pests away, lock in moisture, and fertilize your plants all at the same time?! • Plants need Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium to grow. But they need Nitrogen the most • And if you’re helping your garden to grow using compost, you might be getting 1-2% Nitrogen. If you’re using poultry manure fertilizer you might be getting 4.5% Nitrogen. “With sheep’s wool, you’re getting between 9.3% – 14% Nitrogen. • Wool can also be used as mulch! • And a central complaint when using straw mulch is that it breaks down too quickly, allowing for weeds to grow and leaving the soil exposed, while wool mulch traditionally lasts a minimum of two years and keeps weeds at bay! • Wool also helps with slug control, because slugs don’t like to crawl over the wool! • And therefore plants have been healthier due to the wool, and that’s what actually keeps the Aphids away… because healthier plants are less susceptible to disease or pests! • Wool can also hold between 20-30x its own weight in water, and then release it slowly, it’s allowing these plants to continuously have access to water, without overwatering them! So cool! • If you are looking for a more organic way to help your garden thrive, consider introducing wool. • Consider using wool in your garden to support sheep ranchers and maybe in the not-so-distant future people won’t be using the term ‘waste wool’ at all, perhaps we’ll just call it garden wool! • @vego_garden - - - - - #homestead #homesteader #smallfarm #homesteadersofinstagram #homesteading #garden #farm #gardenseason #gardening #sustainable #wool #vego #vegogarden
