The final countdown has begun: The MINNA website will close May 19th. ⁠ ⁠ The past few weeks have been full of emotion: equal parts reflection, grief, and deep appreciation for everything we've built here at MINNA. Sam, Halee, and I have been floored by the support, the kind notes, and yes, the orders that have been pouring in. ⁠ ⁠ And here's the part I’ve hesitated to say: this has actually been our busiest month ever. Ever.⁠ The irony! We understand that sometimes it takes the urgency of an ending, of scarcity, to push one to act. But I hope it’s also a reminder of how much power we have, collectively, when we choose to support the businesses and values we care about. ⁠ This year alone, we’ve watched so many beautiful, brands close their doors. @ilanakohn, @madrelinen, and many more. And when they go, it’s not just about the products. It’s about the people, the values, the care, the intention. ⁠ So if there’s anything to take away from this strange, bittersweet moment it’s that where you spend your time, your energy, your money matters. And when a group of people band together around shared values, they can make real impact. Seek out the brands and businesses that are doing things differently, that lead with their values. ⁠ We’re here for just a few more weeks. Walk Down Memory Lane: Some of you may have been following MINNA since the early days - when I was weaving every piece by hand in my small Brooklyn apartment. The first photo here is from 2013, before I knew what shape MINNA was really going to become. Sharing a few very random photos from behind the scenes these past 12 years, behind the glossy beautiful homes we've had the privilege to photograph, a glimpse at what it was like building an artisan business.⁠ ⁠ 2 - 2013: My weaving corner in my Brooklyn apartment, where MINNA began. ⁠ 3 - 2014: My first trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, learning to weave from Fe at his workshop in Teotitlán de Valle.⁠ 4 - 2015: Working with Arturo in Mitla, Oaxaca, Mexico on our second collection of blankets. ⁠ 5 - 2016: A visit to Cancuc, Chiapas, Mexico to see Ana, Natalia, and Patrona who weave our Barragán, Peaks, and Alcove pillows. ⁠ 6 - 2017: Katie and George in our first studio in Upstate New York shooting new work. ⁠ 7 - 2018: Celebrating one year of our Hudson store with the team - Madi, Me, Paige, and Margaret.⁠ 8 - 2022: When Sam came to Guatemala and we put them to work in the workshop! ⁠ 9 - 2023: That time we got a flat tire in the middle of the jungle in Chiapas, Mexico at dusk, just before a huge storm. We managed to get it fixed just in time! ⁠ 10 - Behind the scenes at the photoshoot to prepare for the launch of our printed fabric and wallpaper collection.⁠ ⁠ ⁠

The thing about closing a textile company is that inevitably we have a lot of beautiful leftover remnants and deadstock materials. Production timelines means we often need to bulk up on yarn and fabric yardage way ahead of time. So, that means we have A LOT of extra fabric and yarn at the warehouse and even at some of the workshops in Mexico, Guatemala, and Peru. ⁠ ⁠ So, we're doing something we've never done before. Our materials are available for purchase!
