“A day in a room” Spring Summer 25 ドレスやトップスのカフスや襟元を飾るのは、群馬県で作られる刺繍のパーツ。水溶性の紙の上に刺繍を施した後、職人が一点一点手作業で紙を溶かすことで生まれるボタニカルモチーフは、華やかさと慎しさをボキャブラリーとし、様々なオケージョンに寄り添います。 Adorning the cuffs and collars of dresses and tops are embroidered pieces crafted in Gunma Prefecture. Each botanical motif is born from a meticulous process: embroidery is applied to water-soluble paper, which is then gently dissolved by hand, one by one, by skilled artisans. Both elegance and restraint, the signature detailings accompany a variety of occasions with quiet grace. もう日が暮れる頃、いつもお世話になっている機屋さんの工場の中に入ると、ぽうっと暗闇の中の奥に灯りがついていて、おばあさんが糸の中にいた。 経糸を繋ぎ合わせる糸繋ぎの作業をされていた。手際よく糸と糸に白い粉をつけていて、何をつけてるんですか？と聞いたら、「胃薬の粉を水でといたものがいいのよ、昔はタバコの粉とかライオンっていうねぇの歯磨き粉の粉でやってたりもしたのよ。お嫁に来た頃、独学でやり方を覚えてね、それからずっとこうやってるのよ。」と教えてくれた。 今期織ってもらったのは、豊かに鳳凰たちが舞う花鳥風月。繊細なジャガードは経糸をかけるだけでも途轍もない時間がかかる。この地でも糸繋ぎの作業はできる方が数人しかいないそう。 何度も訪れているけれど、私も初めてみた光景。織機の中にはいって作業する後ろ姿が、糸の繭に包まれてるようで美しくてずっと眺めていた。 #thestorybymame
