What a wonderful day performing to ROYALTY at BBC’s VE Day with the greatest team ever!

We were deeply honoured and immensely proud to take part in VE Day 80: A Celebration to Remember last night. To stand in tribute and salute the heroes who gave everything truly meant the world to us.

If Katy Perry is an astronaut, then I’m definitely a race car driver - having passed my ARDS test on Monday. Thank you to @ourmotorsportuk , to my friend @donskiibb for organising this very special experience, to @deeks.steve for his expert guidance and to the rest of the team at @silverstonecircuit . It was emotional and I literally cried when I passed because I’ve wanted this for so long. I’m very grateful indeed!

I just recorded my tribute to RTB for JHRA. It brought back so many wonderful memories that flooded in after I’d finished recording it and I cried. I’ll continue crying because that man had a profound impact on my working practices, musical philosophy and life in general. For a few years he was a dear friend indeed and I loved him. They really only made one RTB, he was a force of nature and he continues to inspire me. His work was unparalleled and looking back at the photographs and seeing footage of him speaking has reminded me that I wouldn’t be the person I am without having been in his orbit for that period of time. What an amazing man. RIP RTB.

I had no idea what to expect when I joined @lasierracasa , but I walked into a beautiful team of people that really care about the craft of songwriting, and the spirit of collaboration. So much positivity, songwriters of varying levels of experience growing together and making friendships that will endure. It was a thoroughly wholesome experience and I loved every second of it!

The triumphant finale of my songwriting residency at @lasierracasa was emotional. @kylefrancisfalc and I were genuinely moved by the talent on display. I hope to do it all again!
