Lawrence Lai, the owner of groundbreaking San Francisco bakery Craftsman and Wolves (@craftsmanwolves), died on Tuesday, April 29. He was 53. He and his wife Ann Lee opened a tea-importing company inspired by Lee’s Taiwanese grandfather and later followed it up with his now-famous bakery on Valencia Street in 2012.
