Is it really summer if you don’t make it to the beach at least once? It’s no wonder that this liminal space between land and sea has attracted humans since time immemorial–we are animals who are drawn to the water, after all. We’re also communal–and outside areas like beaches, parks, playgrounds, and hiking trails are really crucial to our individual and collective wellbeing. Art capturing the calm, peace and escape of the beach helps bring all of this knowledge inside, as well as great memories (and, in the winter, the promise that this very season is en route).
