Fred Taylor (1875–1963) was a prolific British painter and poster designer known for his detailed, near-photographic renderings of architecture, his depictions of idyllic landscapes, and his energetic multi-figure scenes. Bursting with Art Nouveau jubilance, Taylor’s 1922 poster “By Tram from Hammersmith Wimbledon or Shepherds Bush” is exemplary of his iconic designs for The Underground Electric Railways Company of London, Limited. Our carefully remastered archival print of this poster is our debut edition of the artist’s work. That’s cause for the kind of celebration pictured in Taylor’s composition–bring out your balloons, your ticking, your busy patterns, your fancy hats, and your parasols! Chicago-based artist Matthew Hoffman’s (@heyitsmatthew) gorgeous woodcut work is here to make sure we get a daily dose of positivity. “I wish positivity was everywhere. I don’t think there could ever be a point of oversaturation. I feel that hopeful messages need to be repeated over and over again, especially in the current climate”, Hoffman explains of his pieces, and that he “recently realized that the rareness of these messages is what makes them so powerful.” Whether you need to hear “you got this”, “you are doing great”, “you are loved” or “you’ll figure it out”, he’s got us all covered.

✨NEW EDITION✨ Rachel Ruysch, a canonical Dutch still-life painter from the Northern Netherlands, has been celebrated for hundreds of years for her exquisitely poetic floral still lifes. Our newest edition of the artist’s work, her 1704 piece “Flowers in a Glass Vase”, exemplifies her uncanny ability to execute work with scientific precision and an elevated sense of spiritual splendor to boot. One of Ruysch’s most thoughtful hat tricks here is her lighting. Just like any good stage director would, Ruysch theatrically spotlights her subject’s focal point, telling the viewer’s eye exactly where to start on its observational journey. Her use of this chiaroscuro technique lends gravity, depth and dimension to the piece….not to mention drama, honey. Speaking of, can you spot the plump bumblebee at work here? She’s not the only pollinator on board this heavenly bouquet. Lean in to spot the multitude of little flies, gnats, spiders, grand, flower-like moths, and beetles both large and small that populate this floral composition, challenging the “still” and underscoring the “life” in “still life”.
