As a designer, home is where I get to express myself the most. My spaces are always a work in progress—but they’re ( my work) in progress. Take our dining room. At first glance, the design feels minimal, maybe even simple—but step into the space, and you’ll realize it’s anything but. It’s all about texture, and if you know me, you know I’m obsessed. Our custom banquette is a perfect example. The seating is made from parquet flooring salvaged from an old Detroit dance hall—there’s so much story and patina there. That’s probably why I’ve been back and forth on the upholstery… I don’t want to cover up that beautiful history, but I also want the space to feel cozy and layered. We mixed in some new elements too, like our CB2 pendant lighting (been obsessed with these lights foreverrrr), and paired them with vintage seating to strike that perfect balance of modern and eclectic. But the real star of the show? Our dining table. We’ve got a ton of beautiful, solid wood dining tables available on our site (seriously—go check them out). But this one?
