Australian SAS Omega:  Former SASR operator Andy White’s Special Air Service Omega Seamaster Unit Watch with the SAS winged dagger over the outline of Australia.  The case back is engraved with the members year of selection and his PMKEYS (regimental number).  “Happy Wanderer” is the units marching song.

The watches were commissioned in 2012 and 2016, the first batch could be purchased by both serving and former SASR operators, the latter only by those still serving.  According to White, the Seamaster was chosen specifically due to SASR’s dive capability and operators spending so much time in a maritime environment.

SGT White served 29 years in the military, the first 14 with the British army prior to transferring to the Australian Defence Force. After a brief stint at the School of Infantry he passed SASR selection in 2008 and spent nearly 15 years with 1 SQN.

White deployed on operational tours in Northern Ireland 96/99/00, Africa 01, Iraq 03/04/06, Afghanistan 10/11/13/14 and more than a dozen undisclosed locations around the world.

SGT Diddams MG (a mate/friend of White) was KIA in Afghanistan in 2012. While his family was moving from Melbourne to Perth in January 2021, Diddam’s watch was stolen from the family car.

As you can appreciate this family heirloom is irreplaceable the watch is an exact copy of the one pictured the only difference is being the selection date and his number 95/8239384. Please let us know if this comes across your radar and thank you @onceapilgrim for the background here. It’s never just a watch.
