I grew up with these warbling water whistles in the shape of birds that my mom would keep on her kitchen window sill and bring them down for me to whistle through as she’d wash the dishes; her crystal prisms would cast rainbows across my face as I’d sit on her kitchen floors, chirping the whistles, in the morning. • Core memories for me- that I passed down to some of my own children this week too. • And I’m pretty sure your children will love these whistles this summer too, so I thought I’d share! • These fun water whistles aren’t just cute- they’re also pretty captivating and will blow your mind at their ability to warble and chirp once you fill them with water and blow through the simple hole! • I’d say they’re probably appropriate for ages 5-6 and up (or younger, but keep in mind their breakability) and adults too! • They do make plastic ones- but we are a plastic-free home- and I find these non-toxic ceramic ones more beautiful and more intentional. Though, yes, again- they are more breakable. • But imagine them as a gift! 😍❤️ • And they come in a six pack for $8.99 (link in our stories today for easy finding!) so they’re easy to replace, if one of your kids does tragically lose one to the concrete driveway. 🤣🥰🫶 • So to use them, you just fill the bird with water about 3/4 of the way full and just blow into them and they sound like a bird is singing. • I think they all sound pretty much alike, but they do vary slightly depending on how you hold them, and how hard you blow. • We even get our dogs to come running to them. 🤣 • Another idea I had while writing this caption, is the possibility for a wedding favor! • Add a few baby’s breath flowers or other small flowers to them and make them “Love Birds” and blow them when the bride and groom load up to leave at the end of the day! 😱😍 • Anyhow, these are great fun and filled with wonder and I wanted to share them with you today! ☺️🦜 • Do these bring back memories? Are they familiar to you? Or maybe they’re not! Did these trigger any core memories for you? • Either way, have an amazing week full of finding wonder in even the most simplest things in life! - - #whistles #kids #farmkids #kidcrafts #summer
