When we started Vaer Watches, we wanted to build watches for people who actually depend on them. Few represent that better than Luke Shepardson. As a North Shore Lifeguard, father of two, and winner of The Eddie Aikau Invitational, Luke depends on his gear in heavy surf and demanding ocean conditions year round. We first connected through Hawaii’s North Shore Lifeguards in 2024, and since then our watches have barely left his wrist, including during The Eddie at Waimea Bay in 2025. Humble, hardworking, and deeply connected to the ocean, Luke continues to embody everything we want this brand to stand for.
