Under a quick-setting sun, Claire Green and Jamie Morrissey took to the Bajada Loop for their long run. For Claire, who spent four years in Tucson competing for the Wildcats, it was an exploration of old and new frontiers: a familiar loop, but her first long run over two hours. Jamie was along for the ride, hoping to hang on until the end. The scenic loop is dotted with thousands of saguaro cacti that reach up to a forever sky, a soft contrast against the dusty, difficult terrain. Two hours of rolling steady state required just the right amount of gratitude and grit.
