Today we honor Saints Philip and James, two Apostles whose lives echo the quiet strength of discipleship. Philip, known for his eager heart, was among the first called by Jesus and quickly invited Nathanael to "come and see" (John 1:46). His example reminds us that evangelization often begins with a simple, sincere invitation. James, son of Alphaeus—often called “James the Less”—remains largely hidden in the Gospels, yet tradition holds that he led the Church in Jerusalem and was martyred for the faith. In their distinct ways, both men bore faithful witness: Philip with his open proclamation, James with steady leadership and sacrifice.
