Corley, a U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division Veteran, recently shared that he headed out for his usual run along Aldridge Creek Greenway carrying the American flag for the 4th of July. Somewhere along the way, he accidentally found himself in the middle of the Firecracker 5K, without ever registering for the race. Then the official race photographer captured him carrying Old Glory, and his photo somehow ended up in the event gallery. But the best part of the story was not the unexpected race photo.
