As Mother’s Day approaches, we honor all forms of motherhood — the ones who raised us, the ones who raised awareness, the ones who gave us life, and the ones who gave us something to live for. This Mother’s Day, we’re expanding the definition. We’re celebrating the women who mother in all the ways that don’t fit neatly in a greeting card. The ones who didn’t raise children, but raised consciousness. Who didn’t birth babies, but birthed movements, art, stories, and new ways of seeing the world. Motherhood isn’t always diapers and dinner tables. Sometimes it looks like organizing, creating, challenging, healing.
