I saw this beautiful mom letting her children paint her pant (now I can’t find her, pls tag her if you know who I’m talking about 🫶🏻😅) So, I fell in love with the idea and wanted to try it. I was so nervous about my kids making a mess, but lo and behold! I’m the messy one! 🙌🏻😭 It was a success and we can’t wait to show you the results! 🎨🫶🏻🫠🤟🏻🤣 I want to give a shout out to my momma! Happy Mother’s Day to the one who knew me best. 🤟🏻 @jkdonahue REAL TALK: My momma always knows best and for that, I am grateful! 🥹 She has always seen something more in me… something creative, something bright… just something more! She haaaaaaaates it whenever I used the ‘Deaf Card.’ 😑 She used to tell me multiple times, “You’re going to be a graphic designer or a creative director one day.” I laughed it off, convinced that success only came in the form of a high-paying degree. I chased the “safe” path instead. Big mistake! 😬 I earned my degree in Human Resources and landed a job at the Department of Labor. From the outside, everything looked great. But inside? I felt completely lost. I was unfulfilled, disconnected from the creative spark that made me me. 🫥 So I took a leap of faith. I went back to school, and this time, for graphic design. And at RIT School of Design, I finally felt alive. I was seen, challenged, and inspired. It was exactly where I was meant to be. I went straight to work for the DOD. 😁 But, again, another detour. This time as I'm in a different season, I'm a SAHM, and through social media, I’ve found new ways to let my creativity bloom with God guiding me along the way. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. 🥹 If you’ve taken a detour, if you’ve made a “wrong” turn, I want you to know: It’s never too late to return to who you were created to be. ALLOW yourself to say, “Ok! Change of plans!” 👏🏻 Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
