Tallow is at the heart of everything we do at Summer Solace. As the pioneer in Regenerative Tallow® and the Slow Body Care Movement®, we source beef suet fat, a nutritious animal fat derived from the suet naturally surrounding the loins and kidneys of cattle. Though often discarded today, tallow has historically been used in a myriad of culinary and cosmetic applications when saved from the waste stream. It has been a vital resource among pastoral communities throughout much of human history. At Summer Solace, we craft all of our tallow in-house using slow, soft, traditional dry-rendering methods, starting with suet (we never use trim fat!) from healthy animals raised for meat at Stemple Creek Ranch. These animals spend their lives grazing on regenerative Northern California pasturelands.
