In 1960, Leonard Cohen bought a house on the Greek island of Hydra and stayed for much of the decade. He wrote in the mornings, swam in the afternoons, and became part of the circle of artists and writers who had made the island their own. It was here he met Marianne Ihlen, his muse and the Marianne of “So Long, Marianne”, and here he wrote much of the work that made his name. Some of the places he loved are still on the island today.
