This is a pair of the original Simms Gore-Tex waders - the first breathable, Gore-Tex fishing waders ever made... They came through our repair shop a few weeks ago, sent in by a longtime customer who bought them over 30 years ago, in 1995. Here’s what he told us when he sent them in: “I thought you might enjoy this photo of my son, Ritchie, and me from 2003, fishing for steelhead near Olympic National Park. It’s one of those memories that has stayed with me over the years. Before that, we made several trips to Idaho, and throughout those adventures, we relied on the same Simms gear. Now that my waders are waterproof again, I’m excited to get back on the river and start making those trips once more.” - Dick from Minnesota We patched them up in Bozeman, where they were built, by an in-house team still doing it the same way: building and repairing waders in the USA since before Gore-Tex waders even existed.
