A study of 1,260 children found that kids with ADHD had significantly lower ferritin levels than those without, even when hemoglobin looked completely normal. Iron is required to produce dopamine. Low iron may mean compromised dopamine production. And compromised dopamine can look a lot like ADHD. This isn’t about replacing a diagnosis.
