This week’s interior inspiration is Villa Arca, a 1962 modernist gem in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium, reimagined by architect Frederic Hooft.⁠ ⁠ Hooft spent years pursuing the house he adored since childhood, finally restoring it with great sensitivity. While the protected status meant major changes were off the table, subtle updates brought modern comfort without compromising its original spirit.⁠ ⁠ Inside, the open-plan first floor is lined with solid beech and features exposed plywood ceilings and Japanese-inspired panels that create a calm, structured flow. Plaster walls and hand-finished details like tiled showers and carpeted ensuite floors add warmth and texture. ⁠ ⁠ Large windows frame a lush garden view, dominated by a dramatic 14-metre Gleditsia tree.
