I met @jagmeetsingh 15 years ago before he became a politician. I knew him as a community leader. The first time I performed was actually at an open mic Jagmeet organized. It was at these community events where I spent years honing my creative voice. He supported all of us young artists. He gave us resources and opportunities no one else would. He opened up the world to us. One of my favourite things about him has always been how he sees every person in every room he walks into. His generosity and authenticity gave me countless lessons that I still take with me into every room. I grew up in a working class family. My dad’s job didn’t provide health insurance- which meant we couldn’t afford to see a dentist or an eye doctor. Because of Jagmeet Singh, kids from families like mine no longer have to have that experience. As leader of the NDP, Jagmeet Singh got Canadians free dental care, free diabetes medication, birth control, childcare, national school food program so no kid has to learn on an empty stomach. The Canadian election is tmw. I voted with my heart for @jagmeetsingh @ndpcanada because we still need NDP in parliament to fight for rent control, grocery price capping, expanded pharma care, mental health coverage, and more. Sending New Democrats to parliament means continuing to fight for the people.
