32 years ago, it all started with a kid, his dog, and a homemade pack made for the trail. When our founder, Patrick Kruse, set off into the Trinity Alps, Northern California with his dog Marriah, he quickly realised she needed a way to carry her own gear. He sewed up a set of saddlebags for her—it wasn’t perfect, but it planted the seed for what would become Ruffwear in 1994.
