A Short Escape to Nature 🌿 | Taman Negara Kuala Tahan Here’s us, taking a short escape from reality and immersing ourselves in nature at Taman Negara Kuala Tahan. In just two days, we experienced a packed itinerary full of activities that gave us deeper insights into the beauty and life within the rainforest. Our first stop was visiting Perkampungan Orang Batek, where we learned about the culture and lifestyle of the Orang Asli who have chosen to make this area their home. We were introduced to their traditions, daily practices, and even tried our hand at using their traditional hunting weapon, the sumpit (blowpipe). There are approximately 1,000 members of the Batek tribe living around or inside Taman Negara. We were truly lucky to meet them, talk with them, and hear firsthand about their life deep in the jungle. After that, we moved on to Rapid Shooting — an exciting and refreshing adventure! 🌊 Rapid shooting at Taman Negara involves riding a wooden longboat through seven sets of river rapids along the Tembeling River. It's a thrilling, splash-filled experience where getting wet is part of the fun, offering a unique way to appreciate the wild beauty of the national park. Our journey continued to Lata Berkoh, one of the most serene spots inside Taman Negara. Here, we witnessed the majestic Pokok Tualang, estimated to be around 500 years old and standing tall at about 70–80 meters, making it one of the tallest trees in the park. Lastly, we ended our day with a peaceful nature cruise along the river. The boat ride felt like a form of natural therapy — a rare moment of stillness and healing for us, who are so used to the fast-paced life in the city.
