OLD LOVE NEVER DIES… The gentleman in these photos is my old friend @mads_wittermans, a renowned Dutch actor… I must have been around 15/16 years old when I met Mads who was in theatre school with my sister who’s three years younger than me… Back in those days making friends was so fckng easy, you saw a guy with an “ollie hole” in their shoes and you’d be like: “Dude, you skate..? I know this gnarly spot, wanna meet later and shred..?” and that was all it took to forge a friendship for life… Mads and I grew apart, I moved to from Groningen Rotterdam, Mads to Amsterdam and it took about 15 years before we saw each other again, a re-connection that unfortunately didn’t end very well, both of us being rockbottom deep in our addictions… Fast forward to 2026, we both got sober, we’re both still battling a lot of demons but this time we’re prepared and ready to face the fockers and kick em back to hell… It’s funny… We were both nervous to see each other again but it was like we’d seen each other a day before… We talked, and talked and then talked some more… Our lives have SO MANY similarities, both the dark and the lighter days, fighting addiction, learning to love ourselves, succes, failure, family, anxiety… No stone was left unturned… A friendship for almost four decades, growing older makes you appreciate times spent with the people from your tribe so much more and I’m glad we found each other again… Nothing’s more fun than working with professional actors, I asked Mads for a different emotion and facial expression with every photo, something which is really hard with “normal” people (just try it in front of a mirror) and the whole shoot turned into a belly-laughing experience… ♥️♥️♥️ MODEL/BUDDY: @mads_wittermans PHOTOGRAPHY: @jelleinmyear CRIME SCENE: @schorembarbier GROOMING: @reuzel
