A lovely Sunday spent learning, creating, and sharing together with our community from Indonesia and Hong Kong. The session was led by our founder’s teacher, Shannon Ikeda-san @shannontsugi and assisted by Mikako Kinjo-san from POJ Studio Kyoto. Though this two hours workshop, everyone gained a deeper understanding of the philosophy and process behind urushi work and Kintsugi — from mugi-kintsugi application, e-urushi techniques, to the delicate finishing with gold brass powder. More than repairing broken pieces, it was a quiet moment to appreciate patience, craftsmanship, and the beauty found within imperfections.
