We partnered up with @fornatureforgood and @lexjaye to clean up on a beach in South Lake Tahoe on Earth Day last week! Check out the below quote from Lex herself. 🏔️ 🌄 🌲 What inspired you to start up @fornatureforgood ? Tell us more about your Earth Day clean up! “For Nature, For Good came from two moments- I kept seeing friends/strangers repost a specific viral post relating to logging, and I remember saying out loud to a friend “I wish everyone who reposted this would call or write their representatives, it would make such a difference!”. Sharing online is incredible for awareness, but reaching out to your representatives creates a different kind of pressure that they can’t ignore. I also remember feeling incredibly low and helpless one day, with everything I love being threatened (Public Lands, National Parks and Animals) and I realized I could use my skills and turn my doomscrolling into action. After the first event, with so many people expressing how helpful it was to have a place to go to take action, and how easy it actually is, I realized this needed to be a regular occurrence. On Earth Day, we had our second For Nature, For Good event which included our letter writing/signing station, where folks could use a template to help form their handwritten letters, or online signature forms from reputable organizations like @earthjustice, @westernwatersheds and @outdooralliance. After that, we began our clean up with the help from our friends at Parks Project, who provided their amazing Cleanup Kits, at Zephyr Cove in Lake Tahoe. It was amazing to sit in such an incredibly beautiful place and be reminded what we’re fighting for every day.” Thanks so much for getting out there and leaving it better with us for Earth Month!
