I get comments like: “You’re to lucky to be able to bring your baby to the gym”.. And that’s true. But why should it have to be that way? Why should women’s opportunity to train after giving birth depend on luck - instead of determination? Of course, there are questions about safety and order. But there are solutions: special times, designated areas, or simply doing it in a respectful way. My gym shows that it’s possible. This isn’t a question about one specific gym. It’s a question of equality and women’s health. The fact that mothers of young children are systematically shut out of gyms is unreasonable. We know how important physical activity is for both physical and mental health – yet we make it nearly impossible for a large group of women to take part. I’m not writing this to complain, but to show what’s possible. I want more gyms to dare to think differently. I want more mothers to be able to feel what I feel: that exercise and life with small children really can go hand in hand ❤️
