I was quoted $13k to add wall mouldings throughout our home… so I decided to do it myself 🤍✨ This is the second time I’ve installed mouldings myself and first time to install wallpaper in them! I honestly thought it would be so much harder than it was, but once I figured out the maths it all made sense. The tool that completely changed everything for me was this little handheld angle cutter that cuts perfect 45° angles ✨ It gave me the confidence to start because it made the whole process feel simple and achievable 🤍 I chose a creamy buttery white paint — the perfect warm white that still feels fresh and clean without looking stark. Switching from grey instantly made the entire room feel warmer, brighter, and more elegant 🤍 Once all the mouldings were cut, I installed them using a nail gun, then gap-filled and painted everything. I added wainscoting along the bottom half of the walls to ground the room and keep it feeling classic and balanced, then wallpapered only the centre mouldings so the wallpaper becomes a feature instead of overwhelming the space ✨ The wallpaper is a soft pale blue Victorian-inspired print that I custom designed with @oliveetoriel . You guys voted on my wallpaper samples, and although most chose sample one, I ended up using wallpaper one and adding the twirly floral border detail from wallpaper two as a border. They were helped me perfect every detail until the colour and design felt exactly how I envisioned🤍 This room used to be my least favourite space in the house. The grey felt cold and flat, and I knew I wanted something warmer, softer, and more timeless.
