In Vietnam, it’s called Reunification Day. In America, it’s called Black April. Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Approximately 2.7 million Americans served in the Vietnam War, and 7 million Vietnamese soldiers. The war was a focal point for revolutionary movements worldwide. It challenged all of us in our humanity. When the war ended, it sparked a global diaspora of Vietnamese people. As we learn from the past and look forward, may we foster peace in our communities and embrace new ideas, cultures and people different from our own. For the people’s grind. ✊💙
