Being married for 22 years, getting married at age 20 and being a mom of 4 kids I want to tell you something. We pour so much into our children as we should. We show up no matter how tired we are … 😭 can we please say how amazing real women are!! Our time, our energy, our love. And somewhere in the middle of it all… it’s easy to lose sight of us. Marriage can start to feel like logistics and teamwork. But love needs more, it needs connection, attention, and small moments that bring us back to each other. Touch (and to all mom we are sometimes simply touched out, I get it) After all these years, I’ve learned it’s not about big gestures. It’s the quiet things, the quick kiss, the tired “I love you,” the way we still reach for each other in the chaos. The simple things that you feel seen and loved. Like cleaning the dishwasher without being asked … getting a baby sitter and getting a reservation at your favorite restaurant. A back rub … Some days feel like survival mode. But even then, we try to choose each other… to remember we were partners and lovers before we were parents. Because one day, the house will be quiet again. And it will just be us. And I want us to still feel like us. Loving our children comes first. But nurturing our relationship gives them something even greater, a home built on love. And one more thing… don’t compare your relationship to what you see on Instagram. You’re only seeing a small moment, not the full story. Don’t measure something real against something filtered. So hold hands. Laugh. Fight. Make up.Talk about more than the to-do list. Protect your love… it’s what holds it all together. ❤️
