The first time I ever tried Tian Op smoked coconut was at @joestablesydney. Joe was my shop neighbour at Darlinghurst, and introduced me to Tian Op, a Thai candle used exclusively to perfume food made with a blend of spices which impart the most delicious smoky flavour. He used it on a signature smoked ice cream-I don’t often get ‘mind blown’ moments with food, but this was one of them. This week I’ve made some pandan coconut cookies which unfortunately aren’t vegan in and of themselves, but you’ll taste the fragrant smoke from the candle singing through the chunks of Tian Op smoked vegan white chocolate.
