Tips for flying with gear 👇🏼 (ad) We have flown with our camping and climbing gear NUMEROUS times and have learned the most efficient way to pack all of our gear to not only make packing easier, but to also make staying organized once we get there easy too! The goal is to always try and pack into ONE duffel bag so we can minimize checked baggage fees and so we don’t have to deal with a big hard sided luggage in our car. The most important part of flying with all this gear is to STAY ORGANIZED!!! We love to utilize packing cubes and smaller packable bags and packable gear too!! The packable bags/gear we used for this trip (all from @matadorequipment )!! -3 size packing cubes (2.5L, 5L, 7.5L) -Refraction packable duffel bag 25L -Beast 28L UL technical daypack -packable laundry bag (soooo clutch to keep your dirty separate!!) -nanodry packable towel ‼️Other useful tips specific to flying with camping gear 🥘 plan one pot/pan recipes so you don’t have to bring a huge camp kitchen ⛺️ pack your sleeping bags WITHOUT their stuff sack at the very end and utilize all the dead space + it pads all your gear!! 📸 take a photo of your packed bag before you zip it. If anything gets lost or delayed, it makes filing a claim way easier!!! ⛽️ don’t fly with fuel canisters (buy at destination) 🫧 store your stove clean and aired out (fuel smell can get your bag flagged) 🔋 remove batteries from headlamps/lanterns or lock them to prevent accidental turn-on Traveling with camping gear does not have to be intimidating!!
