Growing up in Alexandria, Al Falaki was the tournament. A tournament born for the streets, carried on the shoulders of a community, passed from one Ramadan to the next. Here, football is not just played. It is felt. Now, 50 years later, it’s the biggest grassroots tournament of its kind — with people flying in from around the world just to be part of it. Crowds gathering as they always have, a tradition that refuses to fade. To the community that built this tournament, to the generations who kept it alive, thank you for letting us be a small part of the story. Narrated by Mohamed Shaheen, one of Al Falaki’s four founding members. Ramadan Kareem.
