We sat across from the owner and made one thing clear: we are a small, self-funded brand and being paid on time matters. They placed a $25,000 order. We handmade every product, shipped it, and waited. But when the invoice was due, nothing. Just broken promises and then silence. No payment. No apology. No return of stock. $25,000 may not seem a lot to some, but to us it nearly broke us. We paused launches. We held our breath. Kult ordered knowing they could not pay. And still, they did. This is not just about us. It is about the culture of late payments in our industry. Creatives wait 60, 90, even 120 days to be paid. And when we chase, we are met with silence or false reassurances. It is exhausting. It is wrong. And it has to stop. A warning to others: Kult has now relaunched. No explanation. No payment. No accountability. If you are a brand or artist considering working with them, think carefully ❗️ We are turning our profile picture pink in solidarity with every artist and maker who has ever been paid last or not at all. This is our line in the sand. Thirty day payment terms minimum. Because respect is not optional. Kult did not break us. They made us stronger. And we will keep standing up for what is fair. They can ignore one voice. They can’t ignore all of us…
